This or That with Dianne Duvall

Hello, all! Thanks for joining us. I’m very excited to be here today, celebrating the release of THE PURVELI, the third stand-alone novel in my exciting new Aldebarian Alliance series. If you like strong heroes and heroines—and sci-fi romance novels that are full of action, passion, humor, and happily-ever-afters—then I think you’ll enjoy this one. [Paranormal romance fans have been enjoying the series, too. ;-)] If you’re new to the Aldebarian Alliance, don’t worry. You won’t be lost if you dive in with THE PURVELI.

On some of my other tour stops, I focus on the book, offering snippets to pique your interest in Ava and Jak’ri’s story. But today I thought I would share a little bit about myself by answering “This or That” questions:

1. Dog or Cat?

I like both. And you’ll find both in my novels. ;-)

2. Call or Text?

Text. I have a peculiar dislike of talking on the phone that I’m pretty sure I inherited. LOL

3. Apple or Android?

Apple.

4. Cake or Pie?

I love both, but I tend to eat pie more often than cake.

5. Bath or Shower?

Long, relaxing baths.

6. Sneakers or Sandals?

Sneakers.

7. Hamburger or Taco?

Hamburger.

8. Desktop or Laptop?

When I’m writing and editing, I prefer desktop. But a laptop works for pretty much anything else.

9. Pancake or Waffle?

Waffle.

10. Coke or Pepsi?

Tea. ;-)

11. Board Games or Card Games?

Both.

12. Paperback Book or eBook?

I love, love, love paperbacks (and hardbacks) and have close to 2,000 of them on my keeper shelves. But after staring at a bright computer screen for several hours, I admit I gravitate toward ebooks because reading against a black background gives my eyes a break.

13. Summer or Winter?

Winter. I like it when cold fronts change things up a bit, bringing crisp air, strong breezes, and—every once in a while—even snow.

14. Country or City?

Country. I like the conveniences of the city but hate the noise. It’s a distraction when I’m writing.

15. Beach or Mountains?

Mountains. I have many fond childhood memories of piling into a jeep and driving up barely discernable dirt roads in the mountains to explore ghost towns and caves.

16. Morning or Night?

I’m a total night owl like my Immortal Guardians. :-)

17. Sausage or Bacon?

Sausage, but it has to be spicy.

18. Reading or Writing?

Both. I LOVE writing. It’s so much fun that I actually start to feel stressed if something takes me away from it for too long. But I’ve also always been a voracious reader. Books are a fantastic escape, and I enjoy the adventures they take me on.

19. Pen or Pencil?

Pencil. I’m pretty much like Chris Reordon in my Immortal Guardians series. I always like to keep a pencil and paper handy to jot down notes.

20. Vacation or Staycation?

Staycation. I’m happiest when I’m kicking back and relaxing with my family at home.

21. Spring or Fall?

Spring. I like watching everything bloom again.

22. Scary Movie or Funny Movie?

I love a good scary movie, but lately I’ve been gravitating toward funny movies. And funny books. I love to laugh and make others laugh, so you’ll find quote a bit of humor in my books.

23. Superheroes or Supervillains?

Superheroes. Although I find some supervillains appealing *cough* Loki *cough*, I like seeing the good guys win.

What about you? Scary Movie or Funny Movie? Superhero or supervillain? What are some of your preferences?

Thanks again for joining us! I hope you’ll enjoy THE PURVELI!

Release Date: January 18th, 2022
𝙉𝙚𝙬 𝙔𝙤𝙧𝙠 𝙏𝙞𝙢𝙚𝙨 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝙐𝙎𝘼 𝙏𝙤𝙙𝙖𝙮 𝗕𝗲𝘀𝘁𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗔𝘂𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗿 𝗗𝗶𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗲 𝗗𝘂𝘃𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗯𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗻𝗲𝘅𝘁 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱-𝗮𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗹 𝗶𝗻 𝗮𝗻 𝗲𝘅𝗰𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝘀𝗰𝗶-𝗳𝗶 𝗿𝗼𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝘀𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗳𝘂𝗹𝗹 𝗼𝗳 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗮𝗱𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗹𝘆-𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿-𝗮𝗳𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀.

Ava has always been different. Born with strong telepathic abilities, she lives a very isolated life until she is offered a job with an obscure network that aids powerful Immortal Guardians in their quest to protect humanity from the psychotic vampires who prey upon them. Suddenly, she doesn't feel so different. For the first time in her life, Ava has found a place where she belongs. She's happy. Life is good. And when her employers invite her to join a group of other gifted ones and a handful of Immortal Guardians on a journey to another planet, it becomes absolutely fantastic.

In no time at all, she is speeding across the galaxy aboard a Lasaran warship manned by two amazing alien races. It's the dream of a lifetime... until a vicious attack by a mutual enemy of Lasara and Earth lands her alone in an escape pod with no habitable planet in sight and only one ship within range: one that carries the enemy who wants to know why the bioengineered virus they released on Earth long ago didn't exterminate humanity and leave the planet ripe for their claiming.

Jak'ri doesn't know how long he has been a prisoner aboard the Cebaun, but he fears the enemy's twisted experiments will soon lead them to a virus that will eradicate the Purveli people. Despair grips him until a female from Earth is taken captive and reaches out to him telepathically. The gift that Ava said caused her such misery in the past soon becomes his salvation as the two of them form a fast friendship. Determined to distract each other from the horrors of their existence, they immerse themselves in telepathic communion during the day, then seek solace and adventure together in shared dreams. As their friendship deepens into love, the two hatch a daring plot to escape their captors. But the enemy will not let them go without a fight.

Can Ava and Jak'ri stand against so many and emerge victorious?
