It’s All About Family

Thanks so much for having me to visit today to talk about Scarlet Woman and the other books in my Middlemarch Mates series.

All the Middlemarch stories are set in my home country of New Zealand. I didn’t start out to write a series. In fact my aim was to write a paranormal story featuring black leopard shifters. But it soon became obvious that the brothers I’d given Saber Mitchell, the hero of Scarlet Woman, weren’t there for decoration. The Mitchell brothers were a close-knit family, and all of Saber’s brothers wanted their time in the spotlight. Then there was Emily, the heroine of Scarlet Woman who turned into quite the matchmaker as the series advanced. Her presence in the Mitchell family helped shape many of the Middlemarch stories.

Thus begins the head-to-head of the Commando vs. Cosmo Girl as Hawk woos Gwen in his own unique way, Gwen survives firebombs, drive-bys, kidnappings, hot pursuits by biker hotties and gorgeous police detectives and discovers the heartbreaking reason why Hawk kept her at arm’s length.
And as all this happens, Gwen finds that her sister’s troubles are serious trouble and she must decide who to keep alive: her sister-from-hell or the man of her dreams.

Victoria, based on your bio, I'm thinking you must be insanely busy. A post on how you find time to write amid all of the other things you are involved in would probably be enlightening!

This is the number one question I field not just as an author, but socially and professionally. My schedule sounds crazy even to me. For those who haven't seen the bio, here are some of the high points.

I own 7th House Publishing. Although I'm no longer personally involved in the day to day operations, there are decisions that must be made almost daily. I author and illustrate Seasons of the Witch planners, now in its fourteenth year. I manage Houston's top party band and, although I'm not currently playing, I dedicate some time to keeping up my musical skills: keyboards, guitar, and vocal. I play bridge six to ten times a month because it keeps me sharp. and I write fiction. Oh, wait, I may have forgotten to mention a husband, family and German Shepherd, but they are definitely part of my day.
