Today we have author Lauren Hawkeye joining us on her Take me Down blog tour with a guest post. You can check out Lexy's review of Take me Down *here*
What a great blog to guest at... boy, do I ever love wine!
Speaking of wine, I ‘forced’ a couple of glasses of the good stuff on Evie, the heroine of Take Me Down, then asked her a few questions. She’s normally pretty shy, even has a stutter, but the vino helped her relax... hey, doesn’t it do that for us all?????
LAUREN: Thanks for doing this, Evie. I know you don’t like having the attention focused on you.
EVIE: (squirms uncomfortably in seat, then gulps at her wine). Can we get on with this, please?
LAUREN: Well, let’s start with the obvious question here. Red or white?
EVIE: (Looks down at her glass). I like a nice glass of red once in a while... maybe a merlot... but I don’t like to overdo it.
LAUREN: Moving on, tell us about Lucas. When did you meet him for the first time?
EVIE: (Squirms some more). I met him last summer. He’s my cousin Eric’s roommate. That’s all.
LAUREN: (Raises an eyebrow). Oh, I don’t think that’s all, Evie. A guy who looks like that? One who you’ve had a crush on for a whole year? Come on, spill.
EVIE: I don’t want to talk about it. It’s private.
LAUREN: Well, it’s not too private, since people can go read your story right now. So just tell me, why didn’t it happen last summer? Why did you only get together now?
EVIE: (Casts a disgruntled look at Lauren). I was different last summer. I tried harder to make people like me. I dyed my hair, wore lots of makeup, went out to bars. It didn’t work, and I didn’t like myself too much. So I just went back to being me.
LAUREN: Seems like that worked out okay for you, didn’t it? Lucas seems to like it, after all.
EVIE: (Puts down wine glass, now empty, and stands up). I’m really done talking about this now. Everyone will just have to go buy the book.
