Halloween Character Costume Party with Eliza Knight of The Highlander's Conquest! (Guest Post/Giveaway)

Welcome, lovelies, to Day 2 of our Character Costume Party! Today we have the wonder, Eliza Knight, joining us with her sexy kilted hero, Blane, and his book The Highlander's Conquest! Why would you want to de-kilt a Highlander though, unless you're 'researching' what they really have under that kilt? You'll have to read to find out!

Halloween is coming! Let the disguising, candy stealing and trickery begin!

I went to a Renn Faire this past weekend and bought a beautiful bodice and skirt to wear as a medieval “lady” and my husband will be dressing up in the kilt I made him. We’ll be the characters from my books! It can be fun to dress up as somebody or something else, what will you dress up as?

In the 13th century Scottish Highlands, my beloved characters would be celebrating Samhain, the Gaelic festival marking the end of the harvest season and the coming of winter—also known as the darker half of the year. Spooky sounding, huh? The people would light magnificent bonfires, dance, drink, feast, throw the bones of livestock into the flames and they’d invite the souls of the dead to dine with them—to honor their memories.

Dressing up in disguise and trick or treating on Samhain didn’t come into play until later in the 19th century, although disguising one’s self for protection from the dead and other dark creatures that came about during Samhain has taken place for many hundreds of years. Many would dress in animal skins and heads to trick the spirits into thinking they were also spirits—they hoped this would keep the demons and dark spirits away.

In the second book in my Stolen Bride series, THE HIGHLANDER’S CONQUEST, my Highland hero is a master of disguise. Since he was a lad, he’s dressed up as an English noble, even perfected the accent, so no one would recognize him. He uses his disguise to travel to and from England unnoticed. And it just so happens he tricks the heroine into thinking he’s English—but she gets him back!

So this Halloween/Samhain, my hero Blane will be disguised as an Englishman. After all, he thinks they’re the devil and so the devil will leave him be. J There might be one glitch… His lovely stolen bride, Aliah, is English, I hope she doesn’t take offense! He’ll have to make up for it to keep her happy won’t he!?

What do you think Blane should do to make up for his devilish disguise?

Leave a comment to be entered for your chance to win an e-copy of THE HIGHLANDER’S CONQUEST (Book Two: The Stolen Bride Series).

ABOUT THE BOOK…

The Highlander’s Conquest, Book Two: The Stolen Bride Series

What is a Highlander to do when he falls for the daughter of his enemy?
Highland warrior, Blane Sutherland, has one mission: disguise himself as an Englishman, cross the border and retrieve Lady Aliah de Mowbray. Always up for a challenge, he agrees, pursuing his conquest with vigor—and trying to deny the powerful desire that eclipses him each time he touches his charge. A rogue of the highest order and a younger son, he has nothing to offer a lady but a broken heart.
And what is a lady to do when she cannot trust her heart?
Aliah is skeptical of the English noble who has come to take her to her father and sister in Scotland, but she pushes her doubts aside. Without word in months, she must make certain her family is safe, then she can return to England to join the convent to which she has sworn to pledge her life. But then her escort reveals his true self—he’s a Highlander and his kisses are more seductive than the sweetest of wines.
Surrender never tasted so sweet…

  4. I think he should make it up to Aliah by a romantic trip to a secluded location, a picnic before a roaring fire, and a night of romance she'll always remember.

  6. I'm thinking he would look "really" tempting in that kilt doing some major sucking up and doing whatever she wants him to do ;)

  7. He´d have to do anything she wants for as long as she wants. After a while he´s sure to put his foot down, but that can be fun too, especially if she´s been a bit naughty =D

    best wishes, Linda

  11. I think that he needs to earn her trust by bringing her family to see her so that she knows they are safe. Once her family is there, he can work on his social skills with the in-laws.

  12. Do whatever she wants him to do. That's always fun. Thanks for the giveaway.
