One of my favorite childhood memories was the year I got a GI Joe for Christmas.  At first, I was ticked off that I didn’t get Ken.  Every girl knows that Ken is Barbie’s one true love.  But my military dad thought Ken was a sissy so I ended up with a scowling Navy dude with bendable limbs and Kung Fu grip.  And guess what?  Barbie fell held over heels for her Alpha Joe.  Not only could he wrap his arms around her when they danced and kissed, but with Kung Fu grip, he could hold her purse when they went shopping.  Joe turned out to be the best gift ever and started me down the path of Alpha heroes.
