Wine Pairing: Ice Wine from
Ohio
Lexi: Nothing
says holiday cheer quite like a good love story on ice along with a cold glass
of Ice Wine. And for those of you who are fans of Jaci Burton you will
appreciate this little novella. We have met Stella and Trick, Patrick, before
and now we get to see them get their second chance at love. Besides the ice,
Burton has a knack for describing hockey that is as smooth as a frozen lake; my
favorite part of Holiday on Ice was
Trick. How about you?
Crystal: After meeting Stella and Trick in Melting the Ice, I was happy to see that they got a HEA together in this novella. I loved Trick and he definitely was my favorite part of Holiday on Ice. He had this heart-melting sweet side and then this deliciously naughty sexy side. He made the story for me.

Lexi: The two MCs
in Holiday on Ice are both athletes, and instead of the
guy avoiding the relationship, Stella is the one who needs to be convinced. The
career hurdle was a good obstacle but the fear of commitment obstacle could
have been left out. Did Stella bother you at all?
Crystal: Stella isn't one of my favorite heroines from Jaci Burton. I liked her dancing career, how focused she was on it, but her past bad romance and the commitment hurdle it added to the story seemed somewhat forced. By the big secret Stella made out of that past relationship I was expecting something else and was let down by the reveal.

Lexi: The little
details are what make a story real. I loved the star Trick gives Stella and the
ice skating/dancing. Christmas is a great setting for a love story, so many
romantic activities! Right? You can’t deny that the Christmas element worked in
Holiday on Ice.
Crystal: The Christmas setting added a bit of magic to the story that I enjoyed. I absolutely loved the Christmas star that Trick picked out for Stella. It was perfect for her, and the story. He really was a swoon-worthy leading man. I liked how he knew just how far to push Stella. Like the ice skating, she didn't want to do it but Trick knew Stella would enjoy it. He never gave up and how could you not love that in a man?

Lexi: This
novella doesn't break the mold of Burton’s formula, but it was well written and
packed with emotional conflict and romance. Trick is sweet and will make this
worth your time. Was this Play by Play addition enough for you?
Crystal: Holiday on Ice was a short and sweet read, perfect for the season. It didn't exactly wow me like the previous books in series had but I enjoyed it nonetheless.

In this original holiday novella in the Play-By-Play series, New York Times bestselling author Jaci Burton gives readers the gift of “plenty of romance, sexy men, hot steamy loving, and humor.” (Smexy Books)
Superstar hockey player Patrick “Trick” Niemeyer and dancer Stella Slovinski have picked up where they left off a year ago, resuming their hot, uncomplicated affair. Stella refuses to call it dating, or a relationship. But lately, Trick is looking for more…
Stella’s been burned before—in a relationship she never talks about—not with her family, not with her friends, and definitely not with Trick. But now it’s the holiday season and Trick is determined to give Stella his heart wrapped up in a bow. He knows Stella is the right woman for him, but he’ll have to melt the ice surrounding her heart to keep her from walking away.
