#Interview with Laura Lee Guhrke of Heiress Gone Wild

Lexi: We know what book you’re craving right now, we know that you’ve been looking for a sweeping historical that will leave your skin tingling. And we know you’re going to love our guest author today. Welcome, Laura Lee Guhrke!

LLG: Thanks for having me, Lexi. I appreciate it.

Lexi: Congrats on your fourth installment of your Dear Lady Trulove series! This one truly sweeps the heroine off of her feet, though it’s not easily done. Our poor hero, Jonathan, was expecting to be guardian to a child and instead finds himself in charge of an opinionated, gorgeous woman. Surprise indeed! Tell us about Jonathan, is he a fan of surprises?

LLG: Jonathan a fan of surprises? LOL. He likes surprises about as much as any of us would like a root canal.

Lexi: We knew it, poor Jonathan. He’s a man of control, not one to be taken unsuspecting, and he acts rationally and not impulsively. Well, throw that out the window as soon as Marjorie steps foot onboard. Marjorie’s impulsiveness and determination to follow Jonathan comes from a scarred part of her heart. Does she realize what drives her, or does she merely see herself as a woman old enough to make her own decisions?

LLG: Marjorie isn’t the brooding, introspective sort, so I don’t think she really starts out knowing the deeper reasons that drive her. When she does start to understand her deeper motivations (because of Jonathan), she learns that what we think we want isn’t always what our hearts are yearning for.

Lexi: Abandonment is a frightening thing, no matter how old one is. And it’s also frightening to be attracted to someone that seems to be the polar opposite to you. What would you say is the main reason Marjorie holds herself back from falling head over heels for Jonathan?

LLG: Abandonment is Marjorie’s deepest fear—her only fear, really. Her father’s abandonment of her is a major motivator for all her subsequent decisions, and at first, Jonathan seems like the same sort of irresponsible man her father was, so her fear keeps him at a distance. It’s only when she lets go of her fear that she starts to fall in love. And she also begins to understand what she really wants from life isn’t what she thought it was.

Lexi: Whew! What a plot! Cheers to HEIRESS GONE WILD! Congrats on releasing book four and thank you so much for stopping by the blog, Laura!

LLG: Thanks again, Lexi. Happy reading, everyone!

Dear Lady Truelove,
My ward is driving me crazy. I have to marry her off and get her out of my life. There's just one problem…

When Jonathan Deverill promised a dying friend he'd be guardian to the man's daughter, he envisioned a girl in pigtails and pinafores, a child he could leave behind in some finishing school. Problem is, his ward is actually a fully-grown, defiant beauty whose longing for romance threatens to make his guardianship a living hell.

New York heiress Marjorie McGann wants a London season and a titled husband who can help her spend the Yankee millions she's inherited, and she thinks her new British guardian is the perfect person to help her find him. But Jonathan has no intention of letting his friend's fortune be squandered. Under his watchful, protective eye, Marjorie finds romance hard to come by...until one fateful night when her own guardian's devastating kisses makes her wonder if the greatest romance of all might be right in front of her.
