Since the moment of her defection from the PsyNet and into the SnowDancer wolf pack, Sienna Lauren has had one weakness. Hawke. Alpha and dangerous, he compels her to madness.

Hawke is used to walking alone, having lost the woman who would’ve been his mate long ago. But Sienna fascinates the primal heart of him, even as he tells himself she is far too young to handle the wild fury of the wolf.

Then Sienna changes the rules and suddenly, there is no more distance, only the most intimate of battles between two people who were never meant to meet. Yet as they strip away each other’s secrets in a storm of raw emotion, they must also ready themselves for a far more vicious fight…

A deadly enemy is out to destroy SnowDancer, striking at everything they hold dear, but it is Sienna’s darkest secret that may yet savage the pack that is her home…and the alpha who is its heartbeat…

Crystal's Thoughts:

One year ago I started on the fantastical journey that is the Psy-Changeling series and I have become thoroughly addicted since that first novella. Nine books have been building up to this one epic story centering around Hawke, the wolf alpa of SnowDancer, and Sienna, the cardinal X-Psy that defected from Psy-Net with her family. Nine books rife with tension, denial, frustration, lust and fear. Nalini Singh did not only deliver a love story to end all love stories with Kiss of Snow, she conveyed a sweeping, powerful, breathtaking journey that captivated me from the first page!

The story opens up with a sexually frustrated Hawke, who is on the verge of doing the unforgivable in the hopes of sating his wolf. No one else but Sienna Lauren will do though, but Hawke has is set in his head that she is too young for him. He also feels that he will never be able to give her all that she needs. Luckily for Sienna though, she is strong and determined, and has no problem showing Hawke (with the help of a few friends) just what he'll be missing out on if he keeps setting her aside.

A lot of events that have been building in the series arc come to culmination in this novel.  Not only does Kiss of Snow center on Sienna and Hawke finally coming together, but it also hits on the sizzling tension and blooming relationship between Lara and Walker. As well as Sasha and Lucas, who finally welcome their baby into the world which promises to leave readers smiling big, and the ascension of the Psy and the Changeling facing off in an epic show down. The plot line is fast-paced and heavy hitting, you won't be able to turn the pages fast enough.

There wasn't a thing about this story that I did not love. Sienna and Hawke's relationship has been full of pitfalls from the start and Kiss of Snow continues in that vein. Singh does not make a HEA easy for these two. Hawke has suffered unimaginable tragedies since his youth, and is convinced that he lost his one and only mate as a child. He's despondent that because of this he can never give himself fully to Sienna, but is unable to completely let her go. While Sienna, who is the most dangerous and rare of the Psy - a  Cardinal X,  not only has to fight an external battle for her love with a stubborn alpha wolf, but also an internal struggle to control her ever increasing powers. Both had such incredible character strength, I know they will be sticking with me for a long time to come. And the fire between them, oy, it will leave you tingling in all of the right places! Between the raw sexual tension, life altering decisions, and explosive dynamics, Singh has woven together a breathtaking and incomparable story here.

Kiss of Snow is brimming with fire and passion, making it into a must read book for paranormal romance lovers everywhere. New readers to the series, do yourself a favor and start at the very beginning with Slave to Sensationdon't start with Kiss of Snow. You don't want to miss a second of this build-up, not to mention all of the amazing characters and stories you'll be missing by skipping ahead. This is my second read through of this book and it was just as good as the first time around. I am eagerly anticipating the June 2nd release of Shards of Hope! Nalini Singh is a gifted writer who has created a paranormal world without equal, and I dare you not to love one of her books.

  1. Great Review. I felt the same way about the building up...I was glad I had started from the first book and followed the series. I think if I had read this one first, I would wonder about the tension...but you see it in previous books which just makes this book even better!! And there were so many entertaining moments (my fav is when she goes dancing and he is one pissed alpha wolf)

  2. Gah, I loved that scene too! I didn't think I could love another couple more then I did Lucas and Sascha but Hawke and Sienna were absolutely amazing. Their story went beyond my expectations. Thanks for stopping by! :)
