From the New York Times bestselling author of Bound to Danger, a tale of a woman in danger and the one man who will keep her safe at all costs...

Chief Nursing Officer Hannah Young is accustomed to working under pressure, but even she’s still reeling in the aftermath of a horrific terrorist attack on Miami. And things only get worse after a knife wielding maniac tries to kill her. Desperate for help, Hannah must turn to the one man she never thought she’d see again.

After spending an intensely passionate night with Hannah, NSA Agent and former Delta Force operative Dax Costas fell off the face of the earth. He got called away for a two week mission with no way to contact her. Now he can’t get the smart, sexy woman out of his head. She might be angry at him, but when it appears she has a stalker, Dax moves her under his roof and into his protection.

Unfortunately, whoever wants Hannah dead will stop at nothing. And if Dax can’t identify the perpetrator in time, it could be too late to discover if there is more between him and Hannah than just heated passion…

Linda's Thoughts:
From the safety of his BMW with tinted windows, he watched Hannah Young pull out of her parking space, seemingly in a hurry to leave work. He'd hoped to catch her alone, but the garage was too busy right now. He wasn't out of place at all, but he couldn't have made a move against her without someone noticing. And following her from the hospital wasn't an option. Traffic in Miami was too thick this time of day.
Something told him she'd notice if he tailed her. Hannah was far too smart for her own good. She'd seen something she shouldn't have, and unfortunately he needed to eliminate her.
It wasn't something he relished doing, but it came down to his life or hers.

CHASING DANGER by Katie Reus is a scintillating addition to Katie's Deadly Ops series. It is a novella, but it doesn't shortchange in either the romance, nor the thrills. Even though this is installment #2.5 in her Deadly Ops series, it can be thoroughly enjoyed as s stand-alone. Katie seamlessly fills in any information you need to know from the former books to have it all make sense.

CHASING DANGER is the story of NSA agent Dax Costa and Chief Nursing Officer Hannah Young. I really liked them both. They were each compelling characters who come across as totally realistic. Dax is sexy as could be and solid; he is someone you would want in your corner if your life was in danger. Hannah is our damsel in distress, but, for a nice change, she came across as sensible and understanding. What a nice switch! Their relationship is actually a second-chance-at-love for them; Their chemistry clicked quickly and that worked because they had that prior history.

There's an interesting cast of supporting characters. I especially liked Hannah's friend and co-worker, Shaun. He and Hannah had an easy camaraderie and he was there for her when she needed him. There was no romance between them - they were just good friends and I thought that was a nice touch to the story.

The villain was creepy. When the story would go to his point of view, the hairs on my arms would stand on end. AND...if the stalker/killer isn't stopped, Dax and Hannah will never get to discover where their relationship could go.

Following please find a few of my very favorite non-spoiler quotes:

"She'd taken one look at him the first time they'd met and it was like her body had just erupted into a ball of heat and hunger."
---

"Oh yeah, she wanted to be this man's prey in every way. She'd felt his brand of dominance and wanted more of it. "
---

"...People so often ignored their gut because of social niceties and expectations. Luckily Dax didn't have that issue; he was barely fucking civilized."

Truly, I just don't know how Katie writes such great, fast-paced and sexy romantic suspense - each one unique - BUT she totally does! I started this one evening and simply could not put it down until I'd reached the wholly satisfying end. It's REALLY, REALLY, REALLY GOOD and it will keep you on the edge of your seat through-out!!

Katie Reus is a must-read author for me. Every one of her books are stand-outs. I highly recommend CHASING DANGER to anyone who enjoys well-orchestrated suspense, action and hot romance! I can't wait to read the next Deadly Ops book, Shattered Duty, releasing June 2, 2015. You'll find a sneak peak treat of it at the end of this novella.
