Kelly Maxwell has finally landed her dream job as publicist for the San Francisco Blaze. But the team's newest member, handsome bad boy catcher Matt Scanlon, is refusing every interview. She's got to get him to open up before the season ends, or she may not be back next year. And after everything she overcame to achieve her dream, Kelly's not about to let that happen.
Matt Scanlon just wants to be left alone to rebuild his life and his career. After a year of masking the pain of a recent loss with hard partying and fast women, he finally hit rock bottom and was traded to a team he's loathed his entire life—a team with little to no chance at the post-season.
Butting heads is getting Kelly and Matt nowhere but annoyed, and with the team's schedule on the road, they can't avoid close quarters—or their surprising attraction to one another. As the season winds down, Matt finds his growing feelings for Kelly have brought his numbed emotions back to life. But when betrayal shatters their fragile trust, winning it all seems more impossible than ever.

Quinton once got a second chance at life-but he doesn't want it. The tattoos on his chest are a constant reminder of what he's done, what he's lost. He's sworn to never allow happiness into his life . . . but then beautiful, sweet Nova makes him smile. ABOUT THREE BROKEN PROMISES:
Breakout New Adult sensation Monica Murphy returns with a hot new contemporary romance—a heartfelt story of second chances, forgiveness, and redemption.

Commitment. That’s what I really want from Colin. Ever since my brother, Danny, died in Iraq, Colin’s done so much to help me, including giving me a job at his popular restaurant so I can leave my crappy waitressing job at the strip joint. But lying in bed with him every night to comfort him from his horrible nightmares isn’t enough anymore. I know he feels guilty about Danny’s death, about not going to Iraq, but I can’t keep living this double life.

I love him desperately, but he’s got so many demons, and if he can’t open up to me now, then he’ll never be the real partner I need him to be. I gave him a month, and now I’m out of here. If he truly loves me like he says, he knows where to find me.

December's Wine Club Review: A Vampire's Christmas Carol by Cynthia Eden

Book Selection:
A Vampire's Christmas Carol
by Cynthia Eden

Lexi: Christmas is the time to share some wine and surround yourself with loved ones. It can be a particullarly difficult time for those who have lost someone close or those who must spend the holiday alone. That is three things most of us are blessed to have. Unfortunately for our hero in A Vampire’s Christmas Carol, Ben has none of that. Unless he had wine and we just didn’t see it. In your opinion what was the worst thing Ben had to deal with?

Crystal: LOL I missed the wine too if he had it! I wasn't sure what to think of Ben at the beginning, but Cynthia Eden put a wonderful spin on this lonely vampire's tale. I think that the worst thing that Ben had to deal with though was the guilt over loosing Simone. Not only did he loose the one woman he loved, and the only person he cared about in life, but he felt responsible for her death as well and carried that with him throughout the last ten years.

Crystal L: Ben was a lonely guy. He'd lost the love of his life, his human life, and he had no hope. My heart seriously hurt for him. All of those issues made me want to root for his HEA from the very beginning.

Symphony of Light and Winter by RENEA MASON (Guest Post)

Today I would like to welcome erotic romance author, Renea Mason!

Since we're so close to the new year, I figured I write about goals and resolutions.

My personal goals this year. They are two big ones.

I have two young sons and the other day I looked at the price of college.  WOAH.  The amount I'm saving per month isn't going to buy a semester at this rate by the time they turn 18, so my resolution is to save more money for my boys. I already made a commitment that all of my book earning will go to them so when they grow up and realize that Mommy writes smut, I can fall back on, "Hey, it paid for your college."

Venice in the Moonlight by Elizabeth McKenna (Guest Post/Giveaway)

We hope that every one of our readers had a wonderful Christmas (or just an awesome hump day if you don't observe this holiday *wink*)! Today we are welcoming author Elizabeth McKenna, who is joining us with some delicious hero inspiration and her book, Venice in the Moonlight!

Lusting After Your Hero

My first novel, Cera’s Place, is set in post-Civil War San Francisco. It features a feisty saloon owner named Cera and a war-weary soldier named Jake. When I created my first hero for what I hoped would be a long fiction writing career, I went with my ideal man – the rugged cowboy type. I pictured Aragorn, Viggo Mortensen’s character in Lord of the Rings, in all his sweaty, tangled hair glory.

(Why not Viggo as Frank Hopkins in Hidalgo, you ask? I don’t know. He was sexier in Lord of the Rings.)

EXQUISITE BETRAYAL by A.M. Hargrove (Guest Post/Giveaway)

Happy Holiday's lovelies! We would like to welcome author A.M. Hargrove to RBtWBC. She is joining us today with her recent release of EXQUISITE BETRAYAL, a New Adult Contemporary book. Enjoy!

The Stigma of the Male Romance Author

When I began writing Exquisite Betrayal, I thought that having a male author that hid his identity would be an intriguing idea. As I delved into the writing of the novel, I began to wonder why there weren’t more male romance authors. For my story, I had decided that Ryland Thomas would hide behind his sister, using her as his persona. It was an easy out for him, because they were twins and even shared the same initials.

Out of Turn by Tiffany Snow (Guest Post/Giveaway)

Merry Christmas Eve, my friends! Today we are welcoming author Tiffany Snow and her recent release, Out of Turn. Tiffany has a delicious holiday cocktail recipe to share with us. Enjoy!

Today we would like to welcome author, Jen McLaughlin, to RBtWBC! Jen is joining us with her recent release of OUT OF TIME, the second book in her OUT OF LINE new adult romance series. Enjoy!

Writing men like Finn

One of the biggest challenges for me was a writer is writing heroes that readers will fall in love with. It’s not enough for them to have one or two redeeming qualities. It’s not enough for them to be funny but not smart. When we open up a book, we want the whole package.

Just Evil by Vickie McKeehan (Guest Post)

A day in the life of an indie romance writer…

After a night spent with hunky Raphael, the alarm goes off at an astonishingly early six a.m. Even though I have no desire to climb out from underneath warm covers and leave Raphael, I must get up to keep my body in shape. Ah, yes, the dreaded workout and exercise. A few laps in my indoor pool should do the trick.

Half asleep, I stumble to the sliding glass door. I force it open with all my strength because my night with Raphael has zapped most of my energy. I step out onto my adjoining deck to dip my toes into the heated water of the shimmering pool only to discover my toes have landed in Beau’s water dish. Beau is my loyal little, bug-eyed pug. But when I finally come to my senses, when I finally come out of my dream-like state enough to realize I don’t have an indoor pool, Beau gives me one of his looks that clearly says, “Crazy woman. I knew I should’ve gone to live with the dog whisperer, Cesar Millan, when I had the chance.”

Power of Seduction by Madison Chase (Guest Post)

First of all, hello Reading Between the Wines readers! Thanks for letting me stop by and talk to you.

I thought I’d share with you a long time family favorite. Forget sugar cookies. But be careful because they're addictive. Your waist line might have a thing or two to say about it.  It’s a recipe that I found in a Taste of Home magazine at some point.

Christy Potter's Oh Brother (Guest Post/Giveaway)

Today we would like to welcome author, Christy Potter, joining us with her women's fiction book, OH BROTHER!

For someone who has spent nearly all of her life calling herself a writer and 25 years getting paid to put words on paper, it seems a little late in the game to say I am finally beginning to understand the craft of writing.

Yet that’s exactly what’s happened to me in the two years since I shifted my writing career from full-time journalist to author. I don’t mean, of course, that I wasn’t a good writer before. I won awards for my news coverage and weekly column. I loved my job and I got such a rush from seeing people reading something I’d written in the evening paper.

But as a journalist, words weren’t writing as much as they were column inches, a byline, a paycheck. For a reporter, words are also a minefield. My opinion, any hint of bias, even the slightest slant could land me in court. Flowery, overly descriptive writing would earn the scorn of my fellow reporters, if it even made it past my editor. And forget about time to get creative if I wanted to – deadlines were always looming.

Kathryne Kennedy's Interview & #Giveaway for Everlasting Enchantment!

Christmas time makes me believe in magic. And not necessarily just Santa. Must be something in the air that makes us believe the impossible. Our guest today has a new release full of the sparkly stuff.
So let’s welcome Kathryne Kennedy!

Lexi: Congrats Kathryne! You have a new release in your Relics of Merlin series! Everlasting Enchantment is a fun paranormal romance full of magical elements. Especially for the hero, Gareth, who has been trapped in a bracelet for centuries. Did you let your mind wander into maddening territory imagining what it would be like to be trapped somewhere?

Kathryne: Thank you, Lexi! I’m happy to be here with you today. To answer your question, Gareth is let out every evening, where he gets to seduce many a woman. So I didn’t think his situation would be too maddening for him. :}
