Another new series for Heaton, Eternal Mates kicks off with a hit. Kissed by a Dark Prince introduces another new version of our world, one with (really) ancient beings and a fun twist on where vampires came from. You think you have heard it all huh? Well think again, and who wouldn’t want to meet one of the beings responsible for all the blood suckers? Guess Olivia would have raised her hand, but only in the beginning of the book.
Olivia has made mistakes before with some paranormal creatures. Big mistakes that cost lives. So when she gets wrapped up in Prince Loren and his claim that she is his, she rebells with everything she has. Thankfully we get plenty of Heaton’s steamy pages. She doesn’t give these two a break and it is oh so fun to watch happen.
Past the love story, even though it is wonderful. There is a great puzzle to figure out here involving Loren’s brother. He found his mate and went mad, stark raving mad. And since he is trying to kill Loren that is a great reason for Loren to want to hide Olivia. The whole Loren’s brother going mad thing is brilliant and throws in plenty of secondary characters that you grow attached to.
