Forever Historical Hookup: Q&A + #Giveaway

Like Historical Romances? Then you will want to continue reading! We have five, that's right FIVE, historical romance authors joining us today with their new releases!

“What historical (real) person and historical book character you'd like to invite for dinner?”

Elizabeth Hoyt, DUKE OF MIDNIGHT:
Oscar Wilde would be fun, though I have the feeling he wouldn't be all that nice in person. Albus Dumbledore for the book character!

Eileen Dreyer, ONCE A RAKE:
Oh, so many choices. And if we're going to stay in that time period, so many fascinating people. I think, though, I'd go with Fanny Burney, who was a playwright and diarist of the age, because she knew everybody and we could have a good gossip about everybody from the Prince Regent to Wellington to Napoleon.

What fictional character would I invite alongside? I think I would love to have Sir Percy Blakeny, the Scarlet Pimpernel himself. Can you imagine the conversation? I think it would be marvelous. And I'd get to hear him recite his famous poem.
                “They seek him here
                  They seek him there,
                 Is he in heaven?
                 Is he in hell?
                 That demmed elusive Pimpernel.”

Jennifer Delamere, A LADY MOST LOVELY:
Historical (real) person: William Shakespeare. I’m such a fan of his plays, and I’m intrigued by the Elizabethan England in which he lived. It would be wonderful to pepper him with questions about his life and times.

Historical book character: Amelia Peabody Emerson, the intrepid Victorian-era archeologist from Elizabeth Peters’s mystery series. I love how plucky and fearless she is. In fact, I’d love to meet the entire cast of characters in those books—especially her handsome and equally dauntless husband Radcliffe Emerson.

Anne Barton, ONCE SHE WAS TEMPTED:
I’d invite Amelia Earhart and Emma Woodhouse (from Jane Austen’s Emma) to my dinner party—they’re both fascinating and adventurous in their own ways, and I’d love to watch Emma play matchmaker for Amelia and all the other guests.

Lily Dalton, NEVER DESIRE A DUKE:
I know I should say something like Jane Austen and Mr. Darcy, but I’m going with Abraham Lincoln and Count Dracula. Could you imagine sitting at that table all night?

Author Bio:

Lily Dalton grew up as an Army brat, moving from place to place. Her first stop after relocating was always the local library, where she could hang out with familiar friends: Books! Lily has an English degree from Texas A & M University and after graduation worked as a legal assistant in the fields of accident reconstruction and litigation. She now lives in Houston, Texas, with her family. When she isn't at work on her next manuscript, she spends her time trying out new recipes, cheering on her favorite Texas football teams and collecting old dishes, vintage linens and other fine "junque" from thrift stores and flea markets.

Author Bio:

Anne Barton began swiping romance novels off her mom's bookshelf as a teenager, so when she had the chance to spend a semester in London-home to her favorite heroes-she packed her bags and promptly fell in love with the city, its history, and its pubs. She dreamed of writing romance, but somehow ended up a software analyst instead.
Fortunately, a few years and a few careers later, Anne found her way back to writing the stories she loves and in 2011 won the Romance Writers of America's Golden Heart® for Regency Historical Romance. She lives in Maryland with her husband (who, sadly, is not a peer of the realm-but a great guy nonetheless) and her three children, who try valiantly not to roll their eyes whenever she quotes Jane Austen. Her weaknesses include reality TV, cute-but-impractical shoes, and caffeinated beverages of all kinds.

  6. What a great line-up of books by fantastic authors!

I loved all their comments and must admit that if I could talk to one person it would Cervantes and ask him what motivated him to not only write Don Quixote, the very first "romance novel"!
