Erin … The Good GirlAssistant District Attorney, Erin Marsden, is Serendipity’s quintessential good girl. The only daughter of the ex-police chief, she has never made a misstep, content with her quiet, predictable life … or so she thinks. Until Cole Sanders returns to town with heated interest in his eyes and shadows in his past.
Cole … The Bad BoyAfter seven years of deep undercover work in New York City, Cole returns to Serendipity to help his aging father and to find his moral compass once more. Not to get involved with wholesome Erin Marsden. Even as a rebellious teen, he knew a girl like Erin was off limits and that hasn’t changed. But neither one of them can resist their off-the-charts chemistry and a one night stand brings complications neither Erin nor Cole expected.
The Attraction … Off the Charts! Then Erin’s current case plunges her into a killer’s crosshairs. With more at stake than anyone knows, Erin succumbs to Cole’s take-charge attitude. As a bodyguard, he’s the best. As a lover, he’s even better. But there’s more than the matter of Erin’s safety at stake. And Cole must forgive the sins of his past and prove to himself – and to Erin – that he’s capable of the love and the forever she – and their baby – desperately need.

Crystal L's Thoughts:

Okay, so this review is about a gabillion years past due. Sorry about that. Life happened. But talking about 'life happened', this book is a FANTASTIC example of 'life happening'. Carly Phillips once again brings characters with seriously realistic qualities into a fantastic plot line. Erin Marsden is the Assistant District Attorney in Serendipity, the daughter of the ex-Police Chief and the sister of the current Police Chief, she is the shining example of a "Good Girl". And while she loves her job, her life, and her family, for once she'd like to live a little bit on the wild side and throw that Good Girl image out the window. But how do you do that without throwing all of your hard word and your entire life out the window?

Enter Cole Sanders. The bad boy her brother grew up with. The boy she once had a raging crush on. A man who has now returned home and is the walking definition of "secretive". So what does a good girl do when the bad boy offers her a night of no holds bar, no strings attached, out of this world, boots are rockin' so don't come knockin' sex? YOU FREAKIN' TAKE HIM UP ON THE OFFER - THAT'S WHAT YOU DO!

The next morning after her memorable night of not-so-good-girl sex, and Erin is torn between sated and sad. She could see herself falling for this enigma of a man, but she knows those feelings aren't welcomed by him. So they go their separate ways, with Cole basically giving her the cold shoulder around town. Only fate isn't done with them. Two or three months later - tada! Proof that condoms don't always work.

So now Erin and Cole must come to terms with their surprise bundle of joy that's on the way. No big deal, right? NOT. That man is stubborn with a capital S. And if that wasn't enough to keep you turning the pages long into the night, Erin is also in danger. Somebody is trying to hurt or kill her. Is it a disgruntled person from one of her cases, or is there more to this story than there seems? (Trust me... there's MORE)

I always love a Carly Phillips book, but I really LOVED this one. Even if I did want to drop kick Cole in the head. So you must run out and get it ladies. Enjoy watching Erin bring this smokin' hot man to his knees!
