The Sisters of Lonewood Series by Diane Thorne (Guest Post/Giveaway)

Today I would like to give a warm welcome back to author, Diane Thorne!

Seven Sisters Who Find Love

That's right. Seven sisters. They lived in a mid-sized town at the southern tip of Illinois, a little over two hours from Evansville, Indiana. Their father died not long after the youngest had been born. A few years later, the mother died and the grandmother took over as guardian. Needless-to-say, they all had to pitch in and help care for each other. Life was far from easy since the only income came from the grandmother's retirement. The girls worked helped educate each other, tend to the garden, sewed, cleaned, and did odd jobs for extra money. They did whatever they had to in order to help each other and survive. The grandmother died and fortunately, the oldest had turned eighteen. She took over guardianship of her younger siblings. When they were old enough, they took real jobs to help pay for bills, taxes, and the upkeep of the house. Yes, times were difficult but their love for each other helped them get by. Now, they're about to discover love. The Sisters of Lonewood is an Contemporary Erotic Romance series.

Why seven? I picked the number because it seemed like a good number. I could have chosen with five, but you know what they say…seven is a lucky number.

I came up with the idea of a series after I read a few books in a vampire series by Lyndsay Sands. The family of vampires intrigued me. Each book is about a member of the family and he or she finds their mate. Three books in the series involved three human sisters. The young women were very close. Vampires from the main family fell in love with a sister, one at a time (one per book). After reading about the last sister falling in love with her vampire mate, I put on my thinking cap. I thought it would be great to have a series about sisters trying to find love in a contemporary setting. Three was a small number for a series. I wanted the sisters to struggle together while they grew up, and during their struggles, they bonded. They didn't have time for love since they were all too busy helping each other. Sounds pretty lifelike to me.

Niiki's Story is the first in the series. She's a few days away from getting married and everything is going wrong. She wonders if she should even go through with the wedding. She has to decide fast what to do.

Kate is the second sister to find love. She's a teacher and doubts she'll ever find love like her sister Nikki. Mr. Right moves to town and soon, and guess what. That's right. He can't keep his eyes and hands off her.

Heather's Story is the third book in the series. She travels to Chicago for a break and to spend time visiting her sister, Nikki. Heather runs into her brother-in-law's brother and the spark they had at Nikki's wedding turns into a flame.

Penny is the fourth sister to find that special someone. She's too busy for love, or so she thinks. Then a soon-to-be Princeton graduate walks into the Vet Clinic where she works a day before New Year's Eve. Do I need to mention she has the best NYE ever?

Alison's Story is fifth and it's not like any in the series. The release date is March 6th. She's a bartender and her tastes are a bit different. I don't want to give away how the story is unlike the others, but I'm sure the cover will say plenty. I can't wait to see it.

Lisa is the sixth sister to discover love, and it was right in front of her face for many years. By the way, Lisa is the oldest sister.

Brenda is the last sister and she is the tomboy. Welcome Mr. Indy 500 racecar driver into her world. Things heat up fast in the hot tub.

While some of the stories are sweet, others are more heated. A lot more steamy. Three are still unpublished, but will be soon. Alison and Lisa's Story are set for a March release. The last one, Brenda's Story, is scheduled for release in April. Each story is short and have a happily ever after. If you're in the market for quick reads, I invite you to try the Sisters of Lonewood series.

About Diane:
I am an erotic romance writer living in Indiana. I write in a variety of genres such as Contemporary, Menage a Trois, Urban Fantasy, Fantasy, and Paranormal Erotic Romance. As a lifetime lover of the paranormal, sci-fi, and fantasy, my mind constantly wanders into other worlds full of dark and mysterious creatures. Needless-to-say, vampires, demons, werewolves, ghosts, and fallen angels are my friends. A few bite, others tempt, and some are hot as hell. They suck me into their world, especially after I have consumed a little red wine, and their company never bores. Join me and my friends, but reader beware: I am not responsible for any titillation, increased temperatures, hormonal stirrings, or unusual bite marks.

  1. I enjoy series where there are siblings. You feel like you get to know the whole family through the series and you get to see what happens to everyone after their own book.
