Deliver Me from Darkness by Tes Hilaire (Guest Post/Giveaway)

Today I would like to welcome new paranormal romance author, Tes Hilaire, who is joining us with her debut release of Deliver Me from Darkness!

From Angel to Vampire is a Long Way to Fall….

The doors to the sanctuary swung open, revealing a woman in flowing cherry-red robes. The rich robes clashed ostentatiously with her eye-popping, pumpkin-orange curls. Still, the velvet was sinful rubbing up against the creamy skin of her nicely muscled arms.

A warrior. A queen. A woman men should lower themselves to their knees for.

She shouldn’t be here. The thought was like a distant buzz tone in the back of Roland’s mind, spreading a slick sensation of unease along his spine. Then she dropped her shoulders back, breasts pressing forward against the silk gown as a wide smile formed on her luscious burgundy lips. The slick unease turned into a shudder.

Damn. Switch roles. With a mouth like that, she should be the one kneeling.

“Well, well, well.” The words rumbled up like a purr from beneath her perfect bust to drip like silken honey from that perfect mouth in a husky and full cadence that was…Mon Dieu! Perfect for fucking. “Christos said you’d be the one to come. I didn’t believe him.”

COMES KNOCKING ON THE DOOR
She is light and bright and everything beautiful—despite her scratches and torn clothes. Every creature of the night is after her. So is every male Paladin. Because Karissa is the last female of their kind. But she is his. He may not have a soul, but he can't deny his heart.

An honorable vampire fighting to keep himself from turning into a beast. A young woman with a light inside that burns bright enough to transform. And an age old fight between good and evil.

Tempted by Blood by Laurie London (Guest Post/Giveaway)

Today I'd like to welcome the wonderful Laurie London back to Reading Between the Wines! Laurie is here with her newest Sweetblood release, Tempted by Blood, which is Jackson's story. Whoot! I know a lot of us have been waiting for this one. :) I'll let Laurie get started and then you can enter to win you're very of copy of Tempted by Blood afterwards. Enjoy!

Thanks so much, Crystal, for having me on RBtW today. It just so happens that I’m at a plotting weekend right now with several other authors and we’re drinking wine. Cheers! Tempted by Blood, the third book in the Sweetblood series, just came out in print—the digital version comes out March 1. It’s Jackson and Arianna’s story.

If you’ve read the first two books, you’ll remember Jackson. He’s the playboy, the charmer. If you ask me, I think he’s easily bored, which is why he’s always searching for something new. He’s never satisfied with the way things are. In fact, he changes girlfriends as often as he changes the highlights in his hair.

Tour: The Night is Mine by M.L. Buchman (Guest Post/Giveaway)

Today I'd like to welcome author, M.L. Buchman, over to Reading Between the Wines who is touring with his new romantic suspense release, The Night is Mine. Now, I see a lot of guest posts, especially in the last year, but I have to say that this one from Mr. Buchman really caught my attention. I hope you all enjoy it as much as I did! Look for my 4 wine glass review of The Night is Mine coming soon!

THE NIGHT IS MINE by M.L. Buchman

Thank you Ms. Crystal for having me aboard!

I’m so thrilled to be talking about the launch book of my military romantic suspense series, “The Night Stalkers.” I feel that what started as a fun book has also become, in some surprising ways, an important book, or perhaps a book in an important genre.

When I started down the path four years ago that led to this series, I had a couple of simple elements in my mind.
1. A great love story.
2. A fun write, which means it becomes a fun read.
3. Strong heroines! I love strong heroines. Women amaze me, they always have. I find them endlessly fascinating and have placed them at the core of almost every book I’ve ever written.

Cover Reveal: LUMINOSITY by Stephanie Thomas

A YA Sci-Fi/Dystopian, LUMINOSITY, by Stephanie Thomas.

LUMINOSITY (Luminosity, #1) by Stephanie Thomas (September 11, 2012)

My name is Beatrice. When I was born, I was blessed with the Sight. I was
immediately removed from my parents and enrolled in the Institution. At
the age of twelve, I had my first true vision, earning my raven’s wings.
And when I turned seventeen, one of my visions came true. Things haven’t
been the same since.

The Institution depends on me to keep the City safe from our enemy, the
Dreamcatchers, but I’m finding it harder to do while keeping a secret from
everyone, including my best friend Gabe. It is a secret that could put us
all in danger. A secret that could kill me and everyone close to me.

But the enemy has been coming to me in my dreams, and I think I’m falling
in love with him. He says they’re coming. He says they’re angry. And I
think I’ve already helped them win.

The Principal's Office by Jasmine Haynes (Interview)

Today I am happy to welcome erotic romance author Jasmine Haynes over to Reading Between the Wines for an interview about her new release, The Principal's Office. My 4 wine glass review on The Principal's Office will be coming soon!

Hi Jasmine and welcome to Reading Between the Wines, thank you so much for taking the time to join us today!
Let’s start out by getting to know you a little better. What do you like to do when you’re not writing, do you have any hobbies?

First, let me say thank you for having me. As for my hobbies, of course, I love to read! I live in the mountains, and one of my favorite pastimes is hiking in the woods around my house. We have a great state park nearby. And in the evenings, I enjoy working on my needlepoint. Readers can see an example of my needlepoint work on my website’s bio page, www.jasminehaynes.com

Can you tell us three fun facts about yourself that might surprise readers?

I’ve been married for 28 years to the man I met on my first day at my new job right after I graduated from university. I don’t have any children. And I was an accountant in Silicon Valley for 20 years (a fact readers will probably guess after they read my books!). I love incorporating erotic romance into a business atmosphere with my stories.

Tour: Jennifer Probst with Catch Me & Sex, Lies and Contracts (Guest Post)

Please give a warm welcome to erotic romance author, Jennifer Probst!

A big thanks to Reading Between the Wines for guest hosting me on my blog tour. In my new release, Sex, Lies and Contracts, my heroine has a passion for poetry. I thought it would be fun to talk about including poetry in fiction and how it can deepen the story.

THE ART OF POETRY IN WRITING ROMANCE NOVELS

When I was an undergraduate in college, I had a teacher who forced poetry on us in every form available. I wanted to like poetry...ached to be able to quote Shakespeare and understand what I was saying, or drink coffee and wear black while I discussed the images of the red wheelbarrow or Dickinson’s unearthed depression.

But I didn’t. I hated it. Never understood. And got a B.
Later on, I stumbled onto another teacher who focused an entire quarter on poetry. This time, something odd happened. I began to enjoy it.

The teacher let us read for ourselves, and didn’t force any images or resolutions on us. It was acceptable to say I didn’t understand and not feel stupid. She explained with a passion that shimmered from her very being, until her love for poetry transferred to me, and I owned it on my terms.

Powerful stuff.

As I grew older, I went back and forth to different poets who intrigued me. I studied certain passages to see the expert precise handling of the words. This strengthened me as a writer.

Where did she go?!?

Kelly here... I know you're all going to be so upset about this, but Crystal has up and left us.  Ok, ok.  Not for good.  But she did decide to take a little vacay.  So while she's relaxing with her hubby and a cocktail as the kiddies frolic in the water, we will wait patiently for her return.  Who knows, maybe she'll bring us back a little souvenir.

Boy, I miss blogging. ;)

Gnome On The Range by Jennifer Zane (Guest Post/Giveaway)

Please give a warm welcome to author Jennifer Zane!

Thank you for having me as a guest on your blog today. I have written an interview with one of my characters from my book Gnome On The Range. Goldie is the wonderful, interfering, meddling mother-in-law who runs the town's only adult store. Enjoy!

-------

Interview with Goldie, owner of Goldilocks Adult Store- Bozeman, MT

When did you open your store and why an adult store?
I opened the store back in the mid-seventies. I'm what you would have called a daring woman. People probably call me a lot of other things today, but that hasn't stopped me yet! Back then, no one talked about sex let alone shopped in a store to buy something to help improve it. Winter in Montana makes for many a cozy night. What better way to spend it than in front of the fire with the one you love?

Speaking of love, do you consider yourself a matchmaker?
If the shoe fits! I wouldn't exactly call myself a nosy sort, but I don't like to see young people all alone. If two people can find love between the sheets, I'm all for helping out.

In what ways do you help, specifically?
I've been known to give someone a little nudge. Others, I provide a little box from Goldilocks to help them get things moving along.

So you think having sex is a way to fall in love? What about dinner and a movie?
Hell. Dinner and a movie are just fine. It's what comes after where I come in. Sex is good anytime. Morning, bedtime, whatever. As long as there are two, or more (!), consenting adults who are staying out of trouble and away from too much TV, so much the better.

Too much TV?
Rots the brain.

Okay. Describe your latest success story on the relationship/marriage front.
All right. I'll replace the names to protect the innocent, but if you're reading this and from Bozeman, it might not be too hard to figure it out. Jessica hadn't been in a relationship in a loooonnng time. She'd found someone who'd relit her pilot light, if you know what I mean. But she was too chicken to make a move. So I sent a little care package to the man, Thomas.

Your care package made them fall in love?
Hell no! It made her so angry with me she took things into her own hands. She wasn't overly quick about it so I threatened another care package. Two days later, bam. The deed was done.

So you really are a matchmaker. In a weird sort of way. Who's your next love victim? Do you have someone in mind?
I sure do! Haven't met the right man for her yet, but when he comes along, I'll be ready.

To do what exactly?
Help them fall in love. By the way, are you in a relationship?

Oh, um. No.
I knew it. Make sure you give me your address and I'll send you a little package from Goldilocks. I'm guessing you're into [author of story removed this section of the interview for personal reasons]. Don't worry, we have that kind of thing in the store.

And that's all for today. Thanks to Goldie of Goldilocks for today's enlightening blog experience.

------

If you enjoyed this little impromptu interview with Goldie, please read Gnome On The Range to learn how she meddles in the love life of Jane West (aka Jessica in the interview above). www.jenniferzane.com
Here is the book blurb:

Once you get the zing you can’t go back.
Jane West has everything a woman could want. A job in a small Montana town’s only adult store, two busy young boys and one dead husband. Everything except a little excitement--a little zing. But that changes one summer morning at a garage sale when her kids buy some garden gnomes.
Now someone wants those gnomes and will let nothing get in their way. Including Jane. This new excitement for Jane spells trouble for a relationship with new neighbor--and hot fireman--Ty Strickland. Can Jane and Ty handle a relationship meddling mother-in-law, crazy kids, and stay alive while trying to solve the mystery of the garden gnomes?

~*GIVEAWAY*~
Jennifer is kindly giving away one digital copy of Gnome On The Range to one reader! To enter, just leave a comment on this post and then fill out the RaffleCopter below. Additional entries are available but not required. Good luck!

Tour: Love Again with Tamaria Soana (Guest Post)

Please give a warm welcome to romance author Tamaria Soana and Tyler from Vows!

Meet Tyler Klein from Tamaria Soana’s story Vows featured in the Love, Again Anthology.

Hi, I’m Tyler. In the story Vows my wife Addison seems to be drifting away from me. Honestly our problems started years ago, but I thought we moved past them. After we had the girls things seemed better, then she started to pull away. After Peyton died we got into a huge fight, I thought for sure I pushed her too far and that she was going to leave me. After she has a panic attack at work things slowly started to change and I saw the Addison I fell in love with resurface.

One Saturday I came home and she was dressed in a sexy dress, and she made my favorite dinner. That night Addison seduced me; to be honest, we seduced each other.

Lexy’s Thoughts:
Dreams in which the line between reality and dream is blurred always end before you want them to. And for Hawk his real dream ended much too soon, but it also ended up bringing him the love of his life.

Tour: Love Again with Ella Jade (Guest Post)

Please welcome Ella Jade back to Reading Between the Wines! Ella is stopping by with an anthology she is part of, Love Again.

Experience or Imagination?

When I tell friends, family or people who ask what I do for a living that I'm an author of erotic fiction they often seem surprised. They're always like, "Really? You write what?" The biggest question I'm asked about my chosen profession is…

Do I write from personal experience?

I'd love to say YES! My sex life is just as hot as the pages in my books. Lol I'm not saying I'm a prude or my husband is lacking anything. But I will say, I just don't have that much time in my life for that much research.

I'm a stay-at-home mom most days, a full-time writer, V.P. of the PTO and I substitute teach a few times a month. I'm a busy girl, so when it comes time to write those steamy scenes I rely heavily on my imagination. Several of my books contain BDSM themes but I don't participate in that lifestyle so I have no firsthand knowledge. I do as much research as I can but when it comes time for me to develop characters and set up the plot I just write what I define as sexy or appropriate for that particular scene. I want to stimulate the reader and have them get lost in my words. When I'm writing, I want to forget about reality for a few hours and indulge in fantasy.

It's all about the ROMANCE... with Laura Wright of Eternal Captive (Guest Post/Giveaway)

Happy Friday everyone and welcome to the last day of our Valentine's event, I hope you've enjoyed it! To end things right I have the wickedly awesome Laura Wright joining us today, who is also our Book of the Month author! Woot! Enjoy and don't forget we have another chance for you to win Eternal Captive in the BotM post!

Dear Readers,

You’ve done this all before, yes? Read one of these letters from the author telling you all about their new book…blah blah blah?

Well, Veanas and Pavens, the author isn’t writing this one.
The stories of my existence, my struggles, my desires will always come from me.

Those of you who know me know that there is nothing I despise more than being told what I can and cannot do – what I can and cannot have. That grating attitude if you will started early on in balashood – and you’ll see a few shades of those early years in Eternal Captive. Granted, my mother had the right to attempt to corral me, I was a little fanged devil. But she was the only one. I’ve never thought twice about gutting anyone who tried to pull that sh*t on me – then or now. But I suppose, in every paven’s long life, there will come a test that drop kicks that belief, that promise, straight into the gutter. And it usually comes in the form of a female. The kind of female you believe yourself immune to. Not your type, not the type of anyone who is moderately sane. And you do your best to ignore her, ignore her scent, her eyes, her legs, her voice, and the call of your body when it’s near hers. You even stretch to the point of inflicting the emotional pain of rejection.

But the need doesn’t go away.

No. It only grows. Like weeds through cracks in cement.

And then just when you think you can’t take it anymore, and your cells and muscles and brain and everything in between are ready to give in to it – to her – her true mate shows up and claims her.

*Fierce Growl*
Well, that’s what this story is about, Veanas and Pavens. The unending struggle of desire. Does boy ever get the girl? And even if he does, even if he can hold on to her for a moment or two, will he get to keep her in the end?

Sh*t.

Does a Breeding Male ever get to hold onto anything?

Like the book or no, Dear Readers, but it’s my awakening – the only goddamn morpho I’ll ever have – and it’s one helluva ride.

Bite Me,
Lucian

It's all about the ROMANCE.. with Felicity Heaton with Covet (Guest Post/Giveaway)

Welcome back to our week long Valentine's Day event! Today I would to welcome once again, the wonderful Felicity Heaton who is joining us with an exclusive excerpt of Covet, the first book in her sexy new vampire romance series!

It’s great to be back here at Reading Between the Wines Book Club for my Covet Book Tour. Today I’ll be sharing an exclusive excerpt from this scorching erotic vampire romance novella, which is the first book in my new Vampire Erotic Theatre series.

Here’s a little about Covet, the ultimate story of forbidden love, to set the scene. Javier, a sexy Spanish vampire who co-owns Vampirerotique with three equally devastating vampires, has secretly loved Lilah, a human who works at his theatre, for the past two years. The problem? Lilah is an owned human and sacred law states that no vampire other than her master can touch her out of desire. If Javier acts on his feelings for her, then her master will sense it and will come for his head. But what’s a vampire to do when he finds the object of his affections alone in a private box during one of the erotic performances and she looks at him with desire in her eyes? In the aftermath of their first time together, Javier leaves and Lilah goes after him, unwilling to let him just cast her aside. She confronts him in his apartment and Javier finds it impossible to deny his feelings for her.

Warning, this excerpt is red hot!

They’ve burned for each other for two years, the forbidden attraction between them growing each night. Now resisting the sinful desires of their hearts is becoming impossible.
Javier knows better than to succumb to his hunger for Lilah. The mortal female belongs to a powerful aristocrat patron of Vampirerotique, the theatre he runs with three other vampires. A single touch is all it would take to break the sacred law of his kind, sentencing himself to death, but his passion for her has become too fierce to ignore and he will risk everything to make Lilah his.
Lilah has fought her desire for Javier since arriving at his theatre as a servant but each glance he has stolen, his eyes promising pleasure that will satisfy her longing for him, has chipped away at her defences and she can no longer deny her need and her forbidden feelings for the powerful vampire male.
When they find themselves alone in a private box during one of the erotic performances, will they surrender to their passion and live out their wildest fantasies in a night of wicked pleasure or will the threat of Lilah’s master keep them apart forever?

Jolene’s Thoughts:
Covet is a good read for lust, hot sex and romance.  What else could a girl ask for?  This read is Novella length and though I usually try to steer clear of Novella's, being there is just not enough pages for character development; I just can't pass up on Felicity Heaton.

It's all about the ROMANCE...with Anya Winter of The Mask (Tour/Guest Post/Giveaway)

Welcome back, I hope that everyone had a wonderful Valentine's Day yesterday! I have another spectacular post for our It's all about the ROMANCE event that I hope you'll enjoy, please welcome erotic romance author Anya Winter!

Valentine’s Day is my type of holiday! It’s the one day (or week in my case) that I can indulge in chocolate that my husband buys me and not feel guilty for it (so what if all that chocolate wasn’t part of his gift...I only added a few extra pieces - lol).

Have you read The Mask yet? If you love chocolate and a steamy romance then you should. Especially for Valentine’s. It’s filled with chocolate - all my favorite desserts.

Since this is a holiday where we give gifts to others - and chocolate is normally the preferred gift of choice - I thought I would share with you my favorite all time chocolate recipe. Turns out it’s Eve’s favorite too.

It's all about the ROMANCE... with Katie Rues of Alpha Instinct (Guest Post/Giveaway)

Happy Valentine's Day lovelies! I have a special guest with us today to celebrate the day of love during our It's all about the ROMANCE event, the amazing and fabulous Katie Reus! After you've read Katie's post make sure to check out my 4.5 wine glass review of her newest release, Alpha Instinct HERE. :)

Thanks so much to Crystal for letting me hang out with her on Valentine’s Day! Not gonna lie, Valentine’s Day has never been that big of a deal for me. Back when I was in college I waited tables and bartended my way through school so I always worked holidays, especially V-Day. Why? Much better tips! Guys aren’t going to be cheap in front of their dates. Do I like getting flowers and chocolate? Heck yeah, but if you forget the flowers, I’m cool. Just don’t forget that chocolate! Then you just might be in trouble.

Fear has a scent. So does desire…
Ana Cordona has been a strong leader for the lupine shifters who survived after all the males and most of the females in her pack were mysteriously poisoned. As tough as she is, with no Alpha male, the pack is vulnerable to the devious shifter Taggart, who wants to claim both their ranch and Ana as his own. When Connor Armstrong comes back into her life, promising protection, it’s almost enough to make Ana forget how he walked out on her before—and reluctantly accept his offer to mate.
The minute Connor sees Ana again, it reawakens a raw hunger. He must have her for his bondmate—his wolf cries out for it. But his human side knows he must proceed with caution because of their complicated past. If he is to truly have her body and soul, he must go beyond his burning desire and win back her heart. Whatever it takes, he is determined not to leave her side again.
But Taggart and his rival pack are not their only enemies. A human element in town is targeting shifters. Their plan not only threatens Ana and Connor’s future, but the lives of the entire pack…

Hope for Non-Believers

When our ever-so-gracious host suggested my post be themed along Valentine’s Day, I suffered a great deal of panic.  You see… my version of Valentine’s Day goes a little like this:

Ahh.  A blessed, beautiful little image.  So very heartwarming, I must say.

And somehow I suspect I’m not supposed to confess those things. Why?
a.       I’m guest posting on a romance blog
b.      I write romance.

I’m supposed to be all over this holiday!
