Marc d'Alessio might own a BDSM club with his fellow military veterans, Adam and Damian, but he keeps all women at a distance. However, when Marc rescues beautiful Angelina Giardano from a disastrous first BDSM experience at the club, an uncharacteristic attraction leaves him torn between his safe, but lonely world, and a possible future with his angel.
Angelina leaves BDSM behind, only to have her dreams plagued by the Italian angel who rescued her at the club. When she meets Marc at a bar in her hometown, she can't shake the feeling she knows him, but has no idea why he reminds her of her angel.
When Marc's search-and-rescue partner, widower Luke Denton, confides he believes Angelina is the angel his wife promised to send him, Marc is convinced she is meant for Luke. A painful incident from his past keeps Marc from letting any woman drive a wedge between him and a friend.
While Luke can provide Angelina with love and stability, Marc knows his friend can't satisfy her submissive needs. Marc offers one night to show her that BDSM is not about pain, but a power exchange with mutual trust and consent. But he knows he can't commit emotionally to anything more.
When the abusive Dom from Angelina's past threatens, Marc's protective instincts kick in; he must keep her safe. Again at the Masters at Arms Club, she turns the tables on him and turns his safe, controlled world upside down. (Book Two in the RESCUE ME series; follows introduction to series, MASTERS AT ARMS.)

Crystal L's Thoughts:

So I did something bad. A big no-no. I read books out of order! *gasps in horror* The victims of my crime?Kallypso Master's Masters At Arms Series. See, when I was looking at her books, Adam & Karla's story was the one that pulled all of my interest. So I read the 'Prologue' part of Adam in the first book, Masters of Arms, then I skipped the rest of it and hopped right on over to Nobody's Hero. Then because I became interested in Damian's character I continued on to Nobody's Perfect without reading the 'Prologue' part in Masters At Arms. What I will say is that I still enjoyed those two books without having read them in the proper order with all the trimmings of Masters of Arms. However, after having read the entire series now, Masters At Arms included, I will admit that this series is much better if you do read everything in order. Adam and Karla's story is still my favorite, Damian and Savi's story is still extremely touching, and a like the idea of Luke's story coming up a whole lot, but Marc and Angie's story is interesting as well. I don't know that I liked them as much as the other books, and I'm darn tootin' glad that Ms. Masters is writing a second book for them, because I very much felt like there story is NOT done.

Now let me tell you a little bit about Marc and Angie. Marc was your rich, shallow, Italian playboy before a series of events unfolded. First he finds his equally shallow, dramatic Italian girlfriend from college in bed with his older brother Gino. This cause a knock down no holds bar fight between the brothers where awful words are exchanged. Marc runs off to avoid a brother he can't stand to see at the moment, just for his brother to enlist in the Marines a week later after 9/11. Less than six months after enlistment Gino is killed in action and Marc now carries severe regrets years later for that last argument they had. Marc also enlisted in the military after Gino's death, looking for the opportunity to become a better person and do something more with his life. This leads him to the unit where he meets Adam, Damian, and Grant. Now Marc is terrified of commitment and close relationships, but his overall look on life is ten times better than when he was a rich, shallow playboy. Then, he meets Angie.

Angie is a good Catholic Italian girl who is not a virgin, but she's also not very sexually experienced. She goes to the Masters At Arms Club with her current boyfriend just to end of in a very bad scene where Sir Asshole abuses her and she ends up having to be saved by none other than Marc. Marc is wearing a mask to conceal his face so Angie never knows who he is when he runs into Angie over a month later in her hometown where she is studiously trying to avoid Sir Asshole ex-boyfriend. Marc's good friend Luke is with him since they just wrapped up a SAR rescue in the area and they're still there due to the media. The two men are both attracted to Angie and what ensues is an interesting story of Marc trying to push his attraction and feelings for Angie aside so that he won't let her to close to his heart by trying to push a relationship between Angie and the widower Luke. I won't spoil the rest ladies, you'll just have to read the story! It's a four wine glass toast and I bet you'll never look at stoves the same way again!

  1. See? I TOLD you it was better to read them in order. (And you aren't the only person I know who skipped the rest of Masters at Arms, not realizing Adam and Karla reunite at the END of that book.)

But you seem so contrite and have encouraged your followers to read them in order, so the Masters won't go too hard on you (unless you want them to *wink*).

Glad you are enjoying the series--and, yes, Marc and Angelina only reached Happy For Now in this book. They really only knew each other for about a week at the end, and that's just too soon for happily ever after.

Because I also write a realistic Romance series (everything isn't tied up in a neat bow at the end of each book), Marc didn't know why he was the way he was until something happened at the New Year's Eve gathering you read about in Nobody's Perfect. So, in book five in the Rescue Me series (Somebody's Angel), I'll explore what happened and how Marc handled (or didn't handle) it, and then go from there. I have complete confidence that Angelina (with a little help from Adam and Luke) will get Marc to resolve his issues.

Thanks for the review and I'm so happy you're enjoying them. I certainly do love writing them.

Oh, and Nobody's Angel is on sale for 99 cents through Cyber Monday (Nov. 26), so readers now can get the first two books for a total of 99 cents (because Masters at Arms is free)! What a deal!
