They’ve burned for each other for two years, the forbidden attraction between them growing each night. Now resisting the sinful desires of their hearts is becoming impossible.
Javier knows better than to succumb to his hunger for Lilah. The mortal female belongs to a powerful aristocrat patron of Vampirerotique, the theatre he runs with three other vampires. A single touch is all it would take to break the sacred law of his kind, sentencing himself to death, but his passion for her has become too fierce to ignore and he will risk everything to make Lilah his.
Lilah has fought her desire for Javier since arriving at his theatre as a servant but each glance he has stolen, his eyes promising pleasure that will satisfy her longing for him, has chipped away at her defences and she can no longer deny her need and her forbidden feelings for the powerful vampire male.
When they find themselves alone in a private box during one of the erotic performances, will they surrender to their passion and live out their wildest fantasies in a night of wicked pleasure or will the threat of Lilah’s master keep them apart forever?

Jolene’s Thoughts:
Covet is a good read for lust, hot sex and romance.  What else could a girl ask for?  This read is Novella length and though I usually try to steer clear of Novella's, being there is just not enough pages for character development; I just can't pass up on Felicity Heaton.

This story takes place in Vampire Erotique, a theater run by elite vampires, Javier, Callum and two brothers, Antoine and Snow.  This isn't just any theater and there are no plays or opera's being preformed.  This is an exclusive erotic theater for vampires where erotic acts and bloodletting takes place on stage.

Javier has loved Lilah from afar for 2 years now, knowing he could never have her.  It is a forbidden attraction, being Lilah is a mortal who belongs to a powerful aristocrat vampire.  She had been sent to work at the theater by her master.  An owned human must never be touched by a vampire other than their master, breaking this law means Javier would have to give up the right to defend him and could mean his death.

How long can he hide his feelings?  It all comes to a head when Javier finds Lilah cleaning one of the balcony boxes and finds her watching the erotic show unfold onstage.  Unable to control himself any longer, he gives into his desire and is surprised to find Lilah has feelings for him as well.

It's always refreshing to me to read a story that is told primarily through the hero's perspective.  There are so many books out there that are told through the heroine's eyes and we get a glimpse here and there through the hero's.  This story started out being told through Javier and we did get some page time with Lilah, but most of this short story was told through Javier's eyes and that is an aspect I thoroughly enjoyed.  I loved seeing these two give into their urges all the while knowing there would be consequences.  Their love scenes were not only hot and sexy, but also deep and romantic.  These weren't just two people giving into lust and having sex, it was also moving and you could feel their love and their willingness to fight to be together.  The action and fight that this story leads up to was great and has hooked me.  I cannot wait to read the stories of the rest of the owners of the theater.  I'm especially intrigued with Snow!   I would give this story 4 stars, the only reason I can't give it 5 is I just wish it had more pages.  I love character development and I would have loved to have more of a back story with Lilah and Javier.
